Chase Made it to Districts

While we were in Iowa,
we had a chance to see Chase wrestle for Districts.

Here is a video of his first match,
against an undefeated opponent.

Grandma Pat, Jodie, and David
(who thought that he was out of the picture).

Ashtyn and Adriana

Fayth with her Valentine Bear.

Chase getting ready for his 2nd match.

Even though he lost his first match,
he won in the 3rd Round during his second match.
This made him in 3rd place for Districts.
Way to go Chase!

Memory Lane for Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day, David took Lori
on a drive down Memory Lane.

Our first stop was Nadias Salon.

This was the first place we went outside of school,
just to sit in the parking lot,
watch traffic, and share a bag of Skittles.

Then we traveled down the road and around the corner,
to Noelridge where we kind of had our first date...

Even though 2 of his friends were with us.

We drove by the Hardees that I worked at
when we first dated.

David spent the first 4 years that we were together,
working for Pizza Hut.

Surprisingly romantic, and very thoughtful for
our Valentine's Day in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Science Museum Camp-In

Adriana's 5th grade class was chosen for
the Science Museum Camp-In Program.
Sponsored by Flint Resources.

She is getting ready to load up the bus trailer.

Adriana and Macie are good friends.

We started out exploration by admiring the
Mississippi River.

We got into lab coats and then ran out of time,
so we didn't get to finish our experiment on Saliva.

We went to the Weather Station.

Macie, Adriana, Nansea, Anna, and Brianna:
had a blast making tornadoes.

Here is footage of one attempt,
with much success ;)

The group moved onto the Light Station.

They had a chance to be newscasters.
They were reading prompts on a screen,
the BIG NEWS was about the end of the world.

Lori was amused with this case,
about all the things that have been flushed down toilets.

Parkview was assigned to sleep with the dinosaurs.

Adriana wanted to sleep right next to Lori...
secretly Lori wanted to sleep right next to Adriana too.

The boys slept on one side of the room.

The girls slept on the other side of the room.

Adriana had fun seeing how many of her friends,
could fit into the tube that represented a dinosaurs stomach.
They got about twice this many girls.

Here was our breakfast view of the Mississippi River.

We experience a "Cool Science" show about...
Liquid Nitrogen.

After leaving the store we climbed more stairs
to get our luggage and find the buses.

State Capital

Friday morning we went to the State Capital.

There are so many details put into the building.

This is some information listed right as you walk in.

This is an 8 pointed star on the floor.
When people lobby or protest, they can walk on this star.

If you look above the star, there is a HUGE chandelier.
Compared to the dome it doesn't look so big.

Adriana admires the star from the back of the circle.

There was so much ornate details...

all over the place.

It was an amazing experience, and the tour guide was hilarious.

No School = Nickelodeon Universe

We went to Nickelodeon Universe last Friday.

Here are:
Alexis, Ryan, Adriana, and Emily,
waiting in line for the
Fairly Odd Parents roller coaster ride.

3 out of 4 had a blast...

I'll let you be the judge of the 1 (in a brown shirt)
who was scared the whole time.

Andrew and Alexis are good friends.

Here are the girls waiting for the Log Chute ride.

Here are the boys waiting for the Log Chute ride.

The big water blast was barely caught on tape...

There were many more rides enjoyed.
Littles rocked with Tennants at MOA!
